As a TAB Technician at Reliance, you will operate as part of a project team that provides certified air and hydronic Testing, Adjusting, & Balancing services for a wide variety of clients and markets. Testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) is an important part of air and water delivery systems. As a TAB technician, you will be responsible for working on air and water delivery systems to meet the specifications outlined by the design engineer. If you like math and the idea of working on complex systems and solving problems, TAB is a good career choice for you.  This is a full-time, 1st shift (primarily) position with great benefits that reports to the TAB Manager and is in Indianapolis, IN. 

Primary responsibilities of the position include: 

  • Complete job site safety evaluation and planning process; complete and submit documentation. 
  • Review project design documents to develop Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing plan. 
  • Utilize equipment and instrumentation to measure air and hydronic data, electrical data, and equipment information. 
  • Record data and results in TAB report. 
  • Access controls to manipulate, adjust, and calibrate air and hydronic devices. 
  • Coordinate work with other contractors and owner. 
  • Exhibit regular and reliable attendance at work. 
  • Support relationships with clients and suppliers.  
  • Resolve issues that may arise to ensure project deliverables are met.  
  • Attend client meetings and represent Company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality. 
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs. 
  • Acquire Technician certifications in NEBB and/or TABB.  (Fees are covered by Reliance.) 
  • Other Certifications as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Company Management. 

The successful candidate possesses: 

  • Commitment to quality and customer service. 
  • 3+ years’ experience as an HVAC Technician 
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with clients, verbally and in writing. 
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others to resolve problems. 
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Basic knowledge of computers.

  • Valid Driver’s license 
  • Clean MVR 
  • Willingness and ability to learn  
  • Pass drug testing requirements 
  • Possess or willing to obtain OSHA 10 (company will pay) 

 This position falls under the union collective bargaining agreement; becoming a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #20 is required.  Union benefits apply, including pensions.
